LOS CAMPEROS MARIACHI
SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
Before Covid I was spending about three months a year in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. My wife Linda was taking a life drawing class and Martine - the guy sitting on the left - was one of the models. When I found out Martine played in a Mariachi band I asked if I could photograph them. When I arrived at the house where they rehearsed the room was so narrow I ended up bouncing a couple of speed lights off the walls and floor and that was that.
During the shoot I learned that Los Camperos was started by Martine's grandfather in the 1960's. The current band members are all brothers, uncles and cousins.
